The U.S. drive for war against Iran may not be what it seems, for President Trump has no interest in any foreign conflict. But his National Security Adviser John Bolton is thinking differently. The claims of attacks on Saudi oil tankers in Gulf waters and of drones striking Saudi oil pipelines appear contrived. Talmiz Ahmed, India’s former ambassador to Saudi Arabia and an authority on West Asia, suspects the sabre rattling and reports of attacks are being orchestrated for other purposes and the goal is not war.
