NSA Visits Anantnag, Interacts With People

Team SNI New Delhi 10 August 2019

Two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation, hinted that restrictions imposed in Jammu and Kashmir would be eased for Eid, things seem to be falling in place. On Saturday, in Anantnag—one of the terror hotbeds in south Kashmir—the buzz on the streets was palpable. Private vehicles and public transport were running as usual and hospitals functional without any restrictions. ATMs too were open, with long queues of people to withdraw money ahead of Eid. After visiting Shopian and taking stock of the situation there, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval roamed the streets of Anantnag, spoke to the people to enquire about their problems. He even visited the marketplace where sacrificial lambs are being sold for Eid.
