Modi Govt 2.0

‘Modi 2.0: Will Take Risks To Assert India’s Security Interests’

Team SNI New Delhi 29 May 2019

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to lead India for a second consecutive term, he is expected to continue with the paradigm shift he effected on security in his first term. SNI Editor-in-Chief Nitin Gokhale told Surya Gangadharan that Modi has set a template for any future government to follow: a template of no tolerance of terror strikes backed up by armed retaliation. Gokhale underscored the need for accountability for security lapses such as Pulwama and was hopeful the new government would undertake comprehensive reform of the police and security apparatus.
