India Looks At The Possibility Of Space As The Fourth Dimension Of Warfare

India shot down one of its satellites’s in LEO (Low Earth Orbit) using a modified interceptor of the Ballistic Missile Defence BMD) system on March, 27, 2019. SNI’s Editor-in-Chief Nitin A Gokhale and Editor Surya Gangadharan are in conversation with Associate Editor Amitabh P Revi on the magnitude and the effects of the ASAT (Anti-Satellite) Test. The discussion looks at worries over space debris, whether there is a need for more tests, what next in laser, directed energy and cyber technology research, and how the test is a strategy of not being caught on the wrong side of a potential future treaty.
