Colonel S G Thomas, Commanding Officer INDBATT II (7 Garhwal Rifles Battalion Group) UNMISS speaks to SNI Associate Editor Amitabh P Revi and Video Journalist Prateek Suri in Juba. He talks about the UN mandate, how the unit has dealt with various situations in South Sudan especially being the only blue helmets in IO (internal opposition territory) in Akobo, praise and distinction from the UN and the takeaways from an international peacekeeping deployment.

The 7 Garhwal Rifles Battalion is nearing the end of its year-long stint and is being replaced with the 20th Jammu and Kashmir Rifles Battalion in the eastern sector by July 11.
