‘Quad A Genuine Convergence Of Commonalities, Not Directed Against Any Nation’

NEW DELHI: When Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison visits India in January next year, he would aim at consolidating the gains in bilateral ties made in the past few years and establishing a platform to take the relationship forward, says Australia’s High Commissioner to India Harinder Sidhu. In an interview to SNI’s Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale, Sidhu says there has been a steady uptick in India-Australia ties, especially in the strategic domain and that it should be matched with an economic partnership as well. Education and tourism have been two key areas of engagement and we want these to be broadened, she says. Stating that Quad is a genuine convergence of commonalities, Sidhu asserts that it’s not an arrangement to gang up against any other country.
