Former Indian ambassador to Lebanon, Nengcha Lhouvum Mukhopadhyay reveals how ‘woman power’ combined to evacuate an estimated 12,000 Indian nationals out of war-torn Lebanon in 2006. In an interview with SNI Opinion Editor Ashwin Ahmad, she says that Neelam Sabharwal, India’s High Commissioner in Cyprus, M. Manimekalai, Joint secretary in the MEA and she joined forces to pull off one of India’s most successful rescue missions abroad.
