‘Hope U.S. Understands Afghan Involvement Is The Solution To Peace’

Farkhunda Zahra Naderi was Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s Senior Advisor on UN Affairs from 2015 to November 2018 before she resigned emphasising the need for transparency and accountability. In conversation with SNI Associate Editor Amitabh P Revi, she talks about the peace process and the exclusion of Afghans as of now, the dangers of increasing conflict if the people are not involved and how the Afghan Government is failing to have an inclusive internal dialogue. She also talks about conflict of interest with political figures claiming to represent the country but looking out for their own interests and the need to listen to women who have been fighting for their rights for decades and not fall into the trap of giving women important posts just to attract international donors.
