There seems to be some problem with the manner in which India goes about scheduling visits by foreign officials, diplomats and political leaders. Apparently, it is not uncommon for India to seek to reschedule visits, the trouble is these visits keep getting rescheduled and do not happen. An unprecedented India-Arab summit to be held on February 1 did not happen because somebody in Delhi realised at the last minute, that it was budget day. An honest mistake, perhaps. But some foreign missions that have weathered repeated “rescheduling” by South Block are worried. Is there a political signal they are not reading?
