A retired Indian army general who has served on UN peacekeeping missions, recalled a Pakistani officer by the name of Qamar Bajwa. The same Bajwa who is currently Pakistan’s army chief. He believes Bajwa may not be cut from the same ‘jihadi’ cloth as the usual run of Pakistani generals. In his view, Bajwa would like to reach out to India but is constrained by the institutional policies of the Pak army. The Indian general also believes that India, by not communicating, is not helping matters.
